1. Giant Name Art
Giant name art is a super fun way to get your child excited about both letters and colors! Start with a big sheet of kraft paper or even an old grocery bag. Write your child’s name in big, bubbly letters, then let them go wild coloring it in.
Crayons, markers, stickers—anything goes! It’s a fantastic way for your little artist to get creative while also learning to recognize the letters in their name.
Plus, when they’re done, you’ll have a special piece of artwork to hang up and show off!

2. DIY Giant Coloring Page: one of my favorite coloring art activities for 3-Year-Olds
Who doesn’t love a good coloring session?
For this activity, roll out a long sheet of butcher paper and draw some fun, simple images—think animals, flowers, or maybe a scene from their favorite story.
Then, hand over the crayons, markers, or washable paints and let your child’s imagination run wild! This giant coloring page is perfect for solo play or for sharing with friends during playdates.
It’s a wonderful way to spend some creative time together and see where their imagination takes them.
3. Dinosaur Shadow Tracing: STEM art activities for 3-Year-Olds
Dinosaur Shadow Tracing is a dino-mite way to mix art and a little bit of science! Grab some of your child’s favorite dinosaur figurines and set them up along the edge of a big sheet of paper.
Then, use a flashlight or sunlight to cast shadows of the dinosaurs onto the paper.
Finally, let your child trace the shadows with a pencil or crayon. Once the dinosaurs are all outlined, they can color them in and create their own prehistoric scene. It’s a fun, hands-on way to explore shadows and get creative with their favorite dinosaurs!
